Is it true I can’t or shouldn’t get adjusted because I have a slipped disc?

You absolutely can be adjusted safely and effectively for most disc related issues. We have seen great results fairly quickly with these types of cases, both in the neck and the lumbar spine.

Why do kids need to be adjusted if they don’t have any pain?

Pain is the body’s way of telling us that something is wrong. But in both children and adults, the problem exists long before the pain starts. The birth process is one of most traumatic events our body will go through, both for the mother and the baby. Those slight misalignments get more pronounced the older your child gets. There are two ways to grow. You can grow straight or you can grow crooked, which would you prefer?

If I start chiropractic treatment will I have to come for the rest of my life?

Chiropractic care is maintenance for your body, to keep you healthy and well. The definition of wellness is not just an absence of pain but a body and mind that functions optimally.

Your spine is the way your brain communicates with your entire body. Maintenance is essential to keep those lines of communication clear. You get your teeth cleaned regularly to maintain your dental health. You get the oil in your car changed regularly to maintain the function of your vehicle. Shouldn’t your spine be at least as important as those?

That being said, Dr. Istok’s goal is not to have you come in three times a week for the rest of your life. If you work hard and follow her recommendations, you’ll get to a maintenance schedule that is easily manageable.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes we do. Bring your insurance card to your first appointment. At the next visit, when we share the examination results and treatment plan, we’ll explain your insurance eligibility, co-payments or extras, if any. Once you begin treatment we’ll file your insurance claim and do the necessary paperwork on your behalf.

Do you have family care plans?

Yes we do. You can take advantage of an individual or family care plan whether you are covered by insurance or not. When you call, let us know you’re interested and we’ll share more!

The gaps between your spinal joints contain fluid. Inside that fluid is gas. When the joint is stiff, or hasn’t been moving through its normal range of motion for some time, the gas builds up and forms a bubble.

During the adjustment the chiropractor stretches your joint quickly and the gas bubble is re-dispersed into the fluid. The popping sound is the sound of the gas bubble re-dispersing through the fluid. It is not dangerous or painful.

Everyday Example – if you crack a knuckle, you can’t crack the same knuckle again immediately because the gas hasn’t had time to build up into a bubble.
